For Catholic episcopal conferences issuing "Creation Day national mandates", the next step is to provide formation to all priests about the mandate and its importance, so they are well prepared to celebrate this very special day with their communities.
It is recommended that all bishops dedicate a special session in a diocesan clergy meeting to the Creation Day mandate, ideally around 3 to 4 months before Creation Day 2026 (so, for example, around May 2026). That way priests can then work with their pastoral teams to prepare a beautiful celebration.
Some resources are listed below, which could be presented in that formation session.
1) Introductory video - “What is Creation Day” (2min):

2) Video "The Story of Creation Day in the Catholic Church" (10min):
An introduction to the "Creation Day national mandates", with testimonies of bishops from some countries who implemented mandates in Sept 2025:

3) Webinar video recording:
A formation webinar by SECAM (African episcopal conference) about Creation Day and the national mandates, with presentations by various scholars:
www.bit.ly/video-secam-webinar
Note: the webinar presentations and materials are also available here as standalone resources, if useful.
4) "Creation Mass" resources:
(I) new Mass formulary: here in 6 languages.
To be printed, since it's still not part yet of printed Missals.
(Note that the liturgy commission of your episcopal conference should provide final version for your country)
See also some introductory notes about the formulary: here
(II) Lectionary readings: here
Out of the Lectionary readings, it is suggested to use the more Christological set – Col 1, Ps 104, & Mt 6 – to better align with the day's potential to become the “Feast of Creation in Christ” in the liturgical year.
(Note also that the liturgy commission of your episcopal conference should provide final version of readings for your country.)
(III) Pastoral resource "Ideas for Creation Day",
with ideas for both the Mass itself (gestures, homily ideas, etc) and before/after Mass (e.g. "Via Creationis", etc):
here.
5) Creation Day papal messages:
By Pope Francis and Pope Leo.
6) Additional readings:
The following materials could be provided for clergy to read after the formation session:
Vatican News article: “Pope Leo invites Christians to unite for Creation Day”
Vatican News article: “Creation Day: a precious gift from the Orthodox Church”
SECAM statement: “Crystallizing the Ecumenical Dream of the Feast of Creation”
Liturgical-theological report: “The Feast of Creation in Christ”
7) Communications resources:
Lastly, there also are sample blog posts, videos, and social media assets available,
for sharing in relevant ecclesial websites and social media channels:
